The Silmarillion modern aesthetic | Nerdanel the Wise

In her youth she loved to wander far from the dwellings of the Noldor,
either beside the long shores of the Sea or in the hills; and thus she
and Fëanor had met and were companions in many journeys.

Nerdanel, now finished!  One of my favorite characters in the Silmarillion, though we know almost nothing about her, of course. But she was evidently a woman of very strong personality, given that we’re told she matched her husband in that regard and lord knows, he got his personality all over the entire history of Arda.

Technically, I think he hair should be a more brown and less orange shade of red, but I really like vibrant colors?  Also, this way she matches her daffodils.

Not quite sure who will be next, only that, given April, will be a lady of some sort. As always, accepting suggestions!

The Wise

I’m truly truly sorry for the long absence, suffice to say trying to separate art as a career from hobbyist is incredibly difficult. Had a terrible art block as a result and for a long time I can’t draw anything without despairing over it, not even a quick doodle T u T But I think I’m slowly finding the joy again. Anyho here is one of the long awaited requests from a million years ago, a quick sketch of Nerdanel. I’ve since lost the messages as to who requested what so I hope the requester of Nerdanel is happy with this!

The seven sons of Fëanor were Maedhros the tall; Maglor the mighty singer, whose voice was heard far over land and sea; Celegorm the fair; and Caranthir the dark; Curufin the crafty, who inherited most his father’s skill of hand; and the youngest Amrod and Amras, who were twin brothers, alike in mood and face.
